Robert Hodges

December 28, 1953 — November 14, 2023

Dave Hodges, 69, of Albuquerque, passed away at home on the evening of Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Ben Ruehle; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Devon Hodges; grandsons, Isaiah, Gabriel, Elijah, Dante, and David; brother, Bill Hodges; sister, Carol Spears; and many other beloved family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Ama Hodges; and his brother, Ron Hodges.

Dave was born on December 28, 1953, in Albuquerque, NM. He spent many years of his childhood in Farmington, NM before returning to Albuquerque. He attended Manzano High School, where he first met his one and only, Patricia. They married in May of 1974 and then proceeded to have two children and many adventures. They moved to Bremerton, WA in 2005 (to be near grandchildren), and then retired and returned to Albuquerque in 2019- again, to be as near and as involved with grandchildren and extended family as possible.

Dave had a kind and generous heart, a wicked sense of humor, an insatiably curious mind, was a relentless tease, and never met a stranger. He loved trains, history, geocaching, visiting new places, and most of all, spending time together with his family. He rarely missed any event involving his grandsons- especially if it happened to be a football game.

A memorial service will be held for Dave on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 10:00am, at Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at 3900 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.

Memorial donations may be made in Dave's name to Roadrunner Food Bank, www.rrfb.org

Sorry to hear this, David and I were good friends in our sophmore year, we used to ride around in his moms 1966 LTD. So glad I got to see him at the Manzano reunion two years ago.
