Just wanted to say thank you to those sending out the Alum Newsletter and keeping this website alive. It's fun, despite the distance, to hear about Monarchs having a good time.

In retrospect, even with all the turmoil we had in the 60's and 70's, we were pretty lucky to have good and safe years as high schoolers. When I tell young teachers we had open campus for lunch and we cruised to the A&W, their jaws drop. Miss those frosted mugs!

Happy Memories and Happy Holidays!

Hi JoAnne, I use to date you sister I think, My name is Paul Rex. I miss those frosted mugs and the big cones they use to put rootbeer in those too.

Hey Monarchs!
Just read the alumni newsletter; keep 'em coming. It sure was great to read something different and joyful!

According to the website there are two of us in NC. I'm in Asheville; wondering who and where the other person is; please let me know if possible when you find time. Thanks!

Memories of Manzano: Science was not my strong suit, but Biology 1 with Mr. Berstein gave me a deeper appreciation of it. He was smart, fair and simply a good person. I saw his obituary in Sunday's Albuquerque Journal. It is available at frenchfunerals.com. May he rest in peace. 🙏

Thank you Betsy.

Mr. Bernstein was my favorite teacher at Manzano. I was fortunate to be his student aide during our senior year. He made science interesting and taught me about scientific curosity as it appled to the world. He inspired me in many ways for which I willl always be greatful. May his family be comforted in this tough time. I will see Mr. B again one day.

Thank you Betsy. Mr. Bernstein was one of the reasons I became a science teacher; so fun and inspiring! This post brought back wonderful memories of our labs and Manzano. I can still see Mr. Bernstein's smiles during the frog dIssections. We sure were lucky. His obituary (https://www.frenchfunerals.com/obituaries/melbourn-bernstein) is beautiful as was he. Hoping many fond memories help bring peace to his family at this difficult time.
