VIVIAN BARELA passed away Wednesday June 20, 2012 at the age of 58. She was born and raised in Carnuel, NM. Vivian will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a confirmation teacher for 28 years and was employed by Southwest Airlines. Vivian loved spending time with family, traveling and was very involved with church and community. She loved and put smiles on everybody's faces, she impressioned the hearts of all she knew. She is preceded in death by her parents, Augustine and Stella Herrera; sister, Yvonne Garcia and late husband David Barela. Vivian is survived by her husband, Isidro Joe Salcido of nine years; children, Davy Barela and wife Michelle, daughter Ocean; Ernest Barela and Natalie, Anthony Barela and son Ray Barela; siblings, Bessie Herrera and Sonny Maez, Jerry Herrera and wife Isabel and Sammy A. Herrera; 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 27, 2012 at 10:00am.
