Brian (Tosh) MacGillivray

 

Macgillivray -- Brian Tosh MacGillivray, age 46, passed on to greener pastures Tuesday morning, March 7, 2000, as a result of a severe case of pneumonia and its' complications. Surviving Tosh are his wife, Janalie Bright; two sons, Brian Shane and Cody Lee MacGillivray; one daughter, Jennifer Bright; two step-sons, James and Joshua Bright; parents, Finlay and Molly MacGillivray; two brothers, Jim F. MacGillivray and wife, Jody, Jack MacGillivray and wife, Cindy of Albuquerque. Tosh was preceded in death, in 1978, by a third brother, Finlay Scott MacGillivray. He is also survived by three aunts, Betty Fletcher of Edina, MN, Jean Seth and Maxine Gerhart, both of Santa Fe; two uncles, Bill MacGillivray and wife, Charla of Boise, ID and Allan MacGillivray and wife, Violet of Santa Fe; two nephews, James S. MacGillivray and wife, Debbie, Jeff T. MacGillivray and wife, Liz, all of Albuquerque; three nieces, Tangi MacGillivray, Dawn Lopez and husband, Joey, all of Albuquerque, Leslie Melton and husband, Jeff of Dallas, TX. Tosh was a journeyman electrician by trade and a musician by hobby. He sang in various choirs at First Presbyterian Church as he grew up and also in the Manzano High School Choir. His passions were bluegrass music, stand-up and bass guitar. Tosh participated in several bands as a vocalist and bass guitarist. Other hobbies were fishing and the outdoors. He molded his life around these activities and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. His quick wit and sense of humor were enjoyed by all who knew him. He was a man with a very gentle nature and we will miss him beyond words. Private services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2000. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens in Santa Fe.
