John (Greg) Maguire

Maguire -- J. Gregory"Greg" Maguire, a much loved and devoted son, brother, father and friend to many, died suddenly Friday, January 3, 2003. Greg is survived by his wife, Jonni Jill Coppedge; sons, Levon Maguire of Albuquerque, Liam Maguire and stepson Chris Coppedge of the family home; his parents, Bill and Regina Maguire of Albuquerque; and brothers, Brian Maguire and wife, Karen of Waco, TX, Kevin Maguire and wife, Robin of Albuquerque, Kent Maguire and wife, Lisa of Omaha, NE and Kerry Maguire of Albuquerque. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many in Northern Ireland. Greg will be truly missed by all of his family, and many others. Greg was born on February 23, 1953 in Miles City, Montana and graduated from Manzano High School in 1971. He spent a number of years surveying much of the western United States after which he became a successful Manager of a major local remodeling business. Greg was an avid outdoorsman who also loved playing his guitar for all. His family home will always be filled with his music and voice. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, January, 7, 2003, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 9, 2003, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 1800 Martha NE. Interment of cremains will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Maguire, Kevin Maguire, Kent Maguire, Kerry Maguire, Levon Maguire, Tim Quint, Jeff Weeks, Chris Brown, Kelly Schultz, and Chris Everett. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, Tuesday, January 7, 2003 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Should friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to any Bank of America in the name of Liam Maguire."Hero's come from all walks of life. He is as much a hero as the police team that caught the shooter. The saying goes that it takes a strong man to fight and a stronger man to walk away but I think that the strongest men are those that risk everything to fight the evil of the world."
