Don Anderson

ANDERSON, DONALD L.
Donald L. Anderson, 61, beloved Husband and Father passed away at home peacefully on March 8, 2015, after a brave three year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Diane (Carletti) Anderson, who was by his side day and night following his diagnosis; son Jason and partner Christopher Heise; son Joshua and fiancée Christine Kiser; father-in-law Albert Carletti; brother-in-law David Carletti; niece Michelle Carletti and nephew Michael Carletti. As empty-nesters, he and Diane enjoyed travel; favorite spots included New England and several cruises to warm, Caribbean destinations. A life-long resident of Albuquerque, Don graduated from Manzano High School in 1971 where he met his sweetheart Diane. He was an apprentice at Carroll Plumbing and in 1978 he and Diane opened Accurate Plumbing, Inc. which they operated successfully until his diagnosis in 2012. Don held a “Master Plumber” designation and license from the State of New Mexico. Don had a love of sports. He coached AYSO soccer and Mile High Little League baseball and never missed watching a game when his youngest son, Josh, was playing high school baseball at Manzano. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy and NY Yankee fan, played golf, watched UNM Lobo basketball and loved March Madness. Several Father’s Days were spent with Jason and Josh traveling to US Open Golf Tournaments around the country. He loved their beagles Bailey and Brandy, enjoyed barbecuing and spending time in the yard; he particularly loved the fish pond and water fall in the backyard. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. A private interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Don’s name to Animal Humane New Mexico,
www.animalhumanenm.org, or New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation, www.nmcancercenterfoundation.org.

Dear Diane, family and friends of Don,

I was truly sorry to hear of Don's illness and passing!!! What I remember most about Don was his smile, laugh and all the times we spent together with him enjoying life! I met Don through a mutual friend when I was a freshman at St. Pius X High School and we continued that friendship when I transferred to Manzano. Don was a wonderful friend and I was glad he was part of my life! As so many of you know, Don was always fun to be with!!! May God Bless Don and His Peace be with Don always! Pete Barabe'

Diane, my heart goes out to you and your family. Don loved you dearly. I will never forget the time Don told me that he loved you so much that he would go to the moon and back for you. You both are so very special.

Diane and Family - all my thoughts at this time.

Good journeys to Don beyond this place.  We will see him again in another time, in another place.  He will live on in our memories forever.

Diane and family,

My heart is heavy with the news. However, I remember with joy, a time when we were young and our whole lives ahead. Looking back at his wonderful life of family and service, I am proud to say I knew Donny and my life is better for it. Paul Hoffman

I am so sorry about the premature loss of Don.  I remember him as a fine young person in the basketball program at MHS and was pleased to read about his accomplishments as an outstanding family, community and businses man after MHS.  He was the kind of guy a coach wanted to work with each day.  Sympathy and condolensences to his family and friends.  With all best wishes to the Monarchs and families, Dick Storey
